NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A MEETING OF THE BISHOP'S CASTLE TOWN COUNCIL WILL BE HELD IN THE TOWN HALL ON 12TH SEPTEMBER 2006 AT 8.00 P.M.

Declaration of Interest: Members are requested to declare any personal and/or prejudicial interests they may have in matters to be considered at this meeting in accordance with the terms of the Local Authorities (Model Code of Conduct) (England) Order 2001 issued under Section 51 Local Government Act 2000 as follows:

Jake Berriman, Head of Planning and Building Control, South Shropshire District Council to advise on how the Town Council can have as much influence as possible over future planning and building control in Bishop's Castle..

Consideration of candidates for co-option as Councillor. Decision
To date their have been no applications.
b) Newspaper article regarding resignation of Cllr. Blundell.
To date neither the Mayor nor the Clerk has received any form of resignation from Cllr. Blundell. Information

8. Stone House Hospital
Request for support for NHS control of hospital beds on the site.
Town Council views on Bishop's Castle being part of a Ludlow and North Herefordshire Hospital Trust. Decision

9. Mayors Sunday/ Mayor making
Suggestion to combine Mayor making and Mayors Sunday on a Tuesday evening.

10. Letter from Kaye Chambers
Request for Bishop's Castle to turn off street lights between 12am and 5 am.

11. Draft Statement of Community involvement (circulated)
Do Councillors support the Statement of Community involvement. (see enclosed)

13. Lighting in Love Lane
Approval of lighting scheme (enclosed) Decision

14. Junction of Love Lane & Brampton Road
Should Council request an island at this Junction. Decision

15. Grange Road footpath
Consideration of tenders Decision

16. Bishop's Castle Bowls club pavilion
Request for a letter of support to aid the Bowls Club in its application for a Heritage Lottery Fund to enable them to save the octagonal Georgian clubhouse.

17. Town Hall Bell Tower.
Consideration of the report by the South Shropshire District Council structural engineer following his inspection of the tower. Decision

18. Electrical report
Consideration of the periodic electrical report on the Town Hall, (summary enclosed) Should Council go out to tender on this work. Decision

19. Town Hall Emergency lighting and fire alarms.
Consideration of tenders. Decision

20. Town Hall Renovation Partnership
We have been advised to set up a partnership to aid the application for funding for the Town Hall. It is hoped this partnership will be made up of 4 Councillors and 2 members of each of the following:- Civic society, Wasteless Society, BCHRC, SWSAHS.
Request for four Councillors to be part of this Partnership. Decision

21. Six Castles Cycleway
Councillors are invited to make comments on the proposed signing of the Six Castles Cycleway. (Illustrations will be on the table) Decision
22. Street Light at the junction of Union St and Market Square.
This new light was put in the wrong place. Consideration of letter from Central Networks. Decision

23. Quality parish
Following the presentation given at the last meeting.
a) Approval of a report and summary of income and expenditure to be sent out with next newsletter.
b) Approval for the payment of the Clerk for 20 hours to complete the training course. Decision

24. Bank signatories.
It was agree sometime ago that all Councillors should be signatories on the bank account. (The Clerk and two Councillors to sign each cheque.) The forms need to be completed again with new Council authority. Decision

26. Report of recent meetings attended by Council representatives.

27. Correspondence.
(a) (i) Letter from Biddulph Town Council thanking the Council for permitting the Town Crier to participate in the British Championships.
(ii) E-mail regarding the Shropshire History Project.
