Farmers Markets

Bishop’s Castle’s Farmers’ Market started in 2000 in the Town Hall and has grown considerably since September 2006 so now between 20 and 25 local producers sell their excellent food and produce each month in the Town hall and the adjacent Market Square.
	One or two of our producers come from a little further a field than the immediate 20 mile radius, but both producers and customers feel that the market is an excellent event with varied and superb quality produce, much of which is organic. Not only does it provide wonderful shopping for the population (and tourists), but it also gives the producers an excellent opportunity to advertise what they do without vast expense. Some of their products are for sale in our local shops on an everyday basis as well as at the monthly market.

Sweet Stuff Slow – puddings, deserts, crèmes etc.

Sophie Austen – cheese.
RaRa’s – cream desserts and preserves.
Capers – hot food prepared on the street (paella style) with local produce.
Hopton Hogs – hot hog roast, lamb, beef and pork.
Strefford Hall Farm Shop – beef, pork, lamb, chickens, eggs, sausages etc.
Fairfield Plants – plants and bulbs.
Monkhide Country Wines – wines, vodkas etc., all flavoured with local fruits.
Tickmore – applejuice.
Abbey Wines – French wine importer.
Hope Organic Produce – herbs, vegetables, salad etc.
John King – honey and mead.
Willo Game – gamey things!
