Rail
The nearest railway station is
at Craven Arms, 12 miles away. Often just asking people who
get off may result in a lift. Craven Arms has several taxi
services (Arms Cabs 01588 672734 / 07969693112) - list on
station platform.
Welshpool and Newtown
both have stations but are further away. Most people get the train to Shrewsbury
and then the bus. By Bus
There's a regular bus service
from Shrewsbury to Bishops Castle - however, the last bus
is around 5pm so check timetables. The best site for this
is www.tess.org.uk
(Transport for All in South Shropshire). They run several
shuttle schemes and have links to the major bus provision
in the area.
The only think they miss out (strange) is the main bus service
from BC to Shrewsbury. www.minsterleymotors.co.uk
Shropshire Hills Shuttle Buses
run at weekends and Bank Holiday Mondays throughout the summer
serving Bishop's Castle & Clun, Church Stretton &
Craven Arms and with links to Shrewsbury. The buses go over
the Long Mynd and Stiperstones hill ranges. For timetable
details go to www.shropshirehillsshuttles.co.uk
