As its name suggests, the Penthouse occupies the top floor of the Old Vicarage, a grade 2 listed Georgian house with much older roots, located directly behind the church of St John the Baptist in the heart of the historic market town of Bishops Castle. From its lofty location guests can enjoy far reaching views over the town and hills beyond. Accommodation includes a cosy sitting room, two king sized bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom (bath with shower over). There is a folding ‘put you up’ bed suitable for an additional younger person and a travel cot if required (cot bedding not supplied). Guests are also welcome to enjoy the splendid grounds of the Old Vicarage; one and a half acres of formal gardens, orchard, and a folly built from the ruined remains of the medieval church.
The house and gardens are shared by two cats and a large but friendly family dog. It may be possible for guests to bring a well behaved dog providing it doesn’t chase cats! Please enquire.
Access is up an outdoor staircase making it unsuitable for those with mobility problems. For this reason and as there is a pond in the garden, small children must be supervised at all times.
